How to Make a Schedule for Study
If you wish to be a successful student then planning is very essential. You can utilize your time more effectively with a perfect schedule for study. A good study plan helps you in completing your syllabus in a particular time window. It suggests to you how much syllabus you have completed or you should complete in a fortnight or a month. It will analyze your progress and if you can calculate that before the exam whether you will be able to complete all your topics.
The basis of your schedule can be daily or monthly. It is better to plan your term from the beginning because you track the topics covered and the time left to cover the remaining topics.
How to Create a Schedule
- Find out how many are there in the syllabus. Count number of topics in each subject. After that compute the total number of topics in all the subjects.
- Now calculate the number of days left for you to prepare for exam.
- Topics to be studied on daily or weekly basis = Total Number of Topics by Total Number of Days Available. TIP You can also plan on monthly basis or fortnight basis whichever suitable for you. It’s a matter of decision.
- Now make a table which contains name of the topic along with a date on which it needs to be completed.
- This exercise may cost you a few hours to make a perfect schedule for study but it will make you punctual to consume your time more efficiently and productively.
For an Example
A student is in 12th class and got five subjects to study and got 10 months to study. First, he will have to count the total number of chapters in every subject.
- Physics = 20 chapters = 200 topics
- Chemistry = 20 chapters = 200 topics
- Biology = 20 chapters = 200 topics
- English = 15 chapters = 150 topics
- Physical Education = 15 chapters =150 topics
So the total number of topics to be studied is- 900
available days to study is 30*10 = 300 Days
According to this, the number of topics you need to study daily is 900 by 300= 3 topics each day.
Now do remember one thing you choose these three topics from three different books. You can also increase the number of topics you study a day if want enough time window to revise the topics before the exam. Do not avoid or skip your schedule. If you are going somewhere where you won’t be able to study, in that case, increase your speed and cover those topics before you go somewhere. So my dear students do plan your study and do not forget to follow that.
